Crafted from the finest pure wool, our suits are beautifully tailored with flattering fits and are designed with our signature details. Available in 2 piece and 3 piece designs, these suits stand for everything a debonair gentleman needs.
Our Signature Details…
A felt lining under the collar of a jacket is a mark of a quality suit. Every Hawes & Curtis suit jacket has one which allows the jacket to double as outerwear when it is cold. It also helps the jacket hold its shape around the neck.
Fine buttons have the power to enhance the look of any well-fitting suit. Our suits are finished with the very best real buffalo horn buttons, which are luxurious, pure and 100% natural.
Functioning button cuffs are symptomatic of a superior suit and all of ours are designed with this traditional feature. It’s these small yet significant details that set our suits apart.
Our suits are woven from either Super 120s or Super 140s wool to ensure a soft, luxurious feel whilst remaining robust. 'Super 120s' describes the finesse of the wool fibres used in cloth. ‘Super’ is a way of indicating that wool is high quality, while the number refers to the maximum diameter of the fibre. The higher the number, the finer and lighter the cloth will be. In theory, finer fibres mean a better quality and more expensive cloth. Our premium 1913 Collection suits are made in Italy from superfine 140s wool to ensure the cloth feels and looks exceptionally good.
Stylish Weaves …
Patterns are created in fabric by interweaving different coloured threads. Here are classic fabric weaves found in our wool suits.
HERRINGBONE is an intricate V weave resembling a fish’s skeleton. It produces a smooth feel and a smart finish.
TWILL is an elaborate weave with a distinct diagonal line of raised fabric. Twill cloths are more substantial and have a smoother, silkier finish.
END-ON-END is a crisp weave which has a lighter colour woven through to create a subtle two tone or ‘chambray’ effect.
EXTRA SLIM FIT: This is our most contemporary, fitted suit. Both the jacket and trousers are designed with a narrow cut for a streamlined look.
SLIM FIT: The slim fit suits have a tailored silhouette for a modern style that will flatter everyone. The jackets have a fitted waist and the trousers have a tapered leg for a modern look.
CLASSIC FIT: The classic fit suits have a traditional English cut. The jackets are generously cut with extra room in the waist, and the trousers are a little fuller at the leg.
