Hawes & Curtis harks back to royal heritage with exclusive collection inspired by The Crown
London 11th October 2017
British heritage brand Hawes & Curtis has created an exclusive collection to celebrate the release of acclaimed series The Crown: Season One.
The Crown: Season One focuses on Queen Elizabeth II as a 25-year old newlywed faced with the daunting prospect of leading the world’s most famous monarchy while forging a relationship with legendary Prime Minister, Sir Winston Churchill. In this hugely popular series, on Blu-ray™ and DVD on 16th October, Peter Morgan's masterfully researched scripts reveal the Queen's private journey behind the public facade with daring frankness.
Specialising in luxury shirts and fine tailoring since 1913, Hawes & Curtis has been a favourite for royalty and the brand was awarded four Royal Warrants from The Duke of Windsor, King George VI and The Duke of Edinburgh. Hawes & Curtis also made the shirt and tie for Princess Elizabeth’s Auxiliary Territorial Service uniform.
Hawes & Curtis has taken the opportunity to showcase its phenomenal heritage by curating a capsule collection inspired by The Crown: Season One.
For men, exquisitely tailored double breasted suits and traditional Jermyn Street shirts steal the show. Heritage print silk ties and accessories add sartorial flourishes and showcase a welcome return to days when dressing to the nine was important seven days a week.
The womenswear collection includes sleek satin blouses featuring lavish pussy bows. In luxurious cream and rich jewel tones, they salute this season’s ladylike aesthetic.
Hawes & Curtis CEO Touker Suleyman said: “As soon as SONY approached us about The Crown, we knew it was a natural fit. Hawes & Curtis has had many royal customers and after seeing the TV series, we were inspired to curate a capsule collection that would illustrate our brand’s longstanding heritage.”
